A pair of Findlay Acura executives participated in the eighth annual U.S. Marine Corp Golf Classic benefiting Toys for Tots at Nellis Air Force Base's Sierra Vista Golf Course recently.
General Manager James Cobbs and Internet Coordinator Jim Donohue joined in the day's activities to help produce toys for the holidays for hundreds of underprivileged youth. Under excellent weather conditions, the event drew a sold out field of 168 players.
As an added benefit, entrants in the tournament enjoyed seeing an air show as members of the military prepared for Aviation Nation. The skies were filled all day long with various aircraft practicing maneuvers that also included sky divers.
In addition, 57th Wing Commander Col. Belote gave all of the golfers a rousing sendoff to start the event.
Findlay Acura displayed a 2010 TSX on the par-3 fifth hole. The vehicle was offered as a giveaway had anyone in the tournament hit a hole-in-one.
"We had a great time," said Cobbs, whose dealership suddenly spiraled upward in sales during the past month. "Playing in tournaments like this is beneficial for all involved. We are able to be out in the community helping Toys for Tots and our current or potential customers get the chance to see and hear about the Acura brand.
"The day is a win-win for all everyone and we're proud to be involved."
Donohue, who has been with Findlay Automotive Group stores for the past eight years, said Findlay Acura keys on giving back to the community through events like the annual Toys for Tots benefit.
